QDMA Honors Delaware Group
as
2007 National Branch of the Year
Bogart, Ga. – The Quality Deer Management Association has named the Delaware Branch the 2007 Branch of the Year. The group was recognized and honored at the QDMA Awards Breakfast, held in conjunction with the 2007 National Convention and Whitetail Expo, in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Other QDMA branches in the list of finalists included the Barry County Branch, from Michigan, the 2006 QDMA Branch of the Year; the Cape Fear River Branch, from North Carolina; the Hudson Valley Branch, from New York; and the Mason-Dixon Branch, from Pennsylvania. QDMA now has 164 branches in 33 states. The Branch of the Year is the highest honor QDMA bestows on a local branch.
“If we could bottle QDMA enthusiasm and energy, that bottle would come from Delaware,” said Gene Newman, QDMA Director of Branch Development. “Most notably, the Delaware Branch is a model of how volunteers can accomplish a great deal through cooperation with government wildlife agencies.
“The Delaware Branch is known as THE conservation group in the state, and all of us congratulate Branch members on many jobs well done as Branch of the Year.”
The Delaware Branch also was a finalist for the Educational Branch of the Year award.
