QDMA RECEIVES QUALITY LAND DONATION
WATKINSVILLE, GEORGIA-The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) recently received a $1 million land donation that will serve as the future site of their National Headquarters and Education Center. The 23-acre property, donated by Georgia resident Frank Coggins, is located in Athens, Georgia, approximately 60 miles east of Atlanta.
“The property’s prime location and physical attributes make it an ideal site for our permanent home,” said Brian Murphy, QDMA executive director. “Not only does the property sit atop the highest point of 600 acres of surrounding woodlands, it also contains mature hardwoods, a permanent stream and a waterfall.”
The Natural Headquarters and Education Center will highlight the natural beauty of the property. Planned features include a welcome center, a white-tailed deer museum and conference center, food plot and natural habitat enhancement demonstration areas, nature trails, youth activity areas, and more.
“When complete, the QDMA Natural Headquarters and Education Center will be the most educational, interactive, and enjoyable whitetail facility in the world,” said Murphy.
To accomplish their goal, the QDMA is in the early stages of a capital campaign to raise $2.3 million.
