Kevin Perry joins QDMA as Policy Analyst
Bogart, Ga. – Kevin Perry has joined the Quality Deer Management Association as a Policy Analyst. His primary duties include monitoring legislative issues at the federal, state and local levels, and working with QDMA’s biological staff to provide guidance and establish positions.
“Whether it’s helping stop damaging legislation or helping promote beneficial policies, the QDMA’s foundation in biology and research puts it in a unique position to provide sound, objective guidance to policy makers,” Executive Director Brian Murphy said. “The ‘A’ in REACH stands for ‘Advocate,’ which is a key element in our new education and outreach program to fulfill QDMA’s mission on behalf of our growing membership. Kevin fills an important role in that process, and we are thrilled to have him join the national staff.”
“I’m excited to be working with QDMA,” Perry said, “because there are numerous policy issues affecting deer herds and deer hunters, and QDMA is well-positioned to influence the decision-making process.”
Perry graduated from Duke University with a degree in public policy. He has worked as a legislative intern for the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, in the State and Local Affairs Division.
In order to better specialize in public policy related to wildlife management, Perry is pursuing a graduate degree in wildlife management at The University of Georgia as he serves as QDMA’s policy analyst.
Founded in 1988, QDMA is a national nonprofit wildlife conservation organization with 40,000 members in all 50 states and several foreign countries.
